I'm looking to join the ORA and will one day compete. However, I would like access to a 1000 yard range without the pressures of organized events. Is there a way to get a couple of days of free time at these ranges for practice and familiarization.
^^^^ works. Check the ORA schedule on their website.
Intro days are not a bad idea either. Again, check the website.
Also look at the ORA winter training sessions in Burlington. I understand it is pretty good way to get some training/knowledge and shorten up the learning curve a bit.
And just go to matches (if that is what your schedule allows) and don't put any pressure on yourself to do anything but learn, have fun and ask a few questions.
