I bought an ARMS18 from TSE a couple years ago.
In the meantime, the mount sat in a bag as a spare.
I went to install it recently (this weekend) and it turns out the threaded hole in the receiver dovetail insert is out of spec and glass-hard. It chewed the heck out of the supplied socket head cap screw, which in turn buggered up the little threaded and slotted tensioning insert at the back of the mount.
These parts are all replaceable, so should not be a big deal to fix. I called TSE and they told me to pound sand since they aren't an ARMS dealer anymore (?).
I know I can call ARMS in the states, but that could take a while and I'd like to know if there is anyone in Canada doing ARMS warranty work. It's crystal clear that this is a defective part issue. The dovetail insert is SUPPOSED to be threaded 8-32 and it's not. In fact, it's not anything and I tried every metric and SAE gauge. I suspect the threadform must have warped when they heat treated it.
Any ideas?
