Well actually there is a fairly common problem with the Brazillian made side by side (Stoeger, CBC, FIE, etc). There are a couple of pot metal parts in the trigger mechanism that cause you grief, especially on high millage guns.
You'll know you have a problem when the gun either:
1) Fails to stay cocked when closed, or
2) Fires when closed.
Needless to say a gun that fires when closed is "not a good thing".
To be fair to these guns I have not had a look at recently manufactured one to verify if the offending pot metal bits are still used. Other than the dinky car metal parts they are solid enough.
My money for a low $ SxS is on a Bakial, all steel, rugged and with chrome bores. The Norinco SxS has all handling and feel of a 4x4 piece of lumber.
