Is there any dealer in Canada selling EAA pistols?

Freedom Ventures are at the top. They sell Tanfoglio which is the same thing. EAA is really just the distributer in the U.S. for Tanfoglio. Tanfoglio is priced way higher that the EAA stuff, which is why I never bought from them. No justification for such a price difference.

I'll wait for Sean to chime in before I start blowing holes in your theory. That way it won't be hear say but right from the man himself.

TSE does bring some in ...I bought a 10mm Witness off of them a couple of years ago.

Remember there is a BIG difference in quality when you compare Witness to a Tanfoglio Stock pistol.

Witness Match pistols are also alot more than base ones.

What's the difference? They are the same gun made at the same factory by the dame people with the same investment casting hardware as far as I know.

EAA likely sells more pistols in a day than Sean does in a year and he had I suspect pretty good sales numbers. For those who have never dealt with a manufacturer volume counts. Buy an entire run of pistols and price drops significantly.

Retail handgun sales here in Canada don't amount to a pimple on a gnats ass compared to the US.

BULLs**t. We went over this, and you were here - but I'll happily post the deal again.

1. As Bob mentioned, EAA get a completely different price than we do, having been in a family business over a generation with Tanfoglio and due to the fact that thier orders are gigantic compared to ours.
2. Since our orders are smaller, the shipping overhead is larger.
3. Canadians pay duties on Italian guns. Americans pay less duty.
4. Try actually getting some of the higher end guns from EAA. They might advertise them, but they don't really stock them. The number of Americans that contact me disgruntled about what they cannot get from EAA is astounding.
5. EAA sells direct, and could care less about dealers. We are wholesalers. We sell at SRP. Our dealers are permitted to sell for less than SRP.

Don't like the Tanfoglio prices? Sorry. It's as low as we can go. If they were any cheaper, it wouldn't be worth me bringing them to the country and if I actually was making a fortune on them, trust me - I wouldn't be bothering to respond to people like "Crack".

Thanks Sean. You saved me a whole bunch of typing.

The keyboard commandos around here have no idea the true cost of doing business in the firearms industry in Canada.

While I don't know all the particulars, I have dealt with enough of the owners to hear all the hoops that need to be jumped throught so I can enjoy my sport.

The way some on this board comment I wonder if any have any business expereience at all. As a retired Commercial Banker I think I have a pretty good idea of what small business in Canada are up against having banked in three provinces and in the NWT. The common denominator in no particular order are high taxes (Fed,Prov,Mun), heating, salaries and payroll taxes would be the major variables. Add to that, frieght for inventory and relatively low volumes and you get some idea what they are up against.

All that said we consumers want service from our retailers. From reading the forums EAA service is simply awlful, period in a marketplace that demands service.

Then we have Sean at Freedom Ventures. I have only bought one gun and a couple of top ends from him and every transaction has been exactly as ordered with great after service. I should also add his sound advice on purchases, freely given from his excperience shooting IPSC. Add to that his volunteer time he extends to one of our largest pistol sports and some question his price points. To that I say get a life!

Well, getting back to Imbane's real question: Ignore the "EAA" part and instead look for a "Baikal" dealer, I suspect. The IZH stuff is Russian. EAA doesn't actually make any guns, they just buy batches from various manufacturers (Not just Tanfoglio) and 'rebadge' them.
