Just curious if there's any way to get one for collecting? If so where would I start looking? I'm pretty sure it still has to be registered and all that but that's fine with me. Any info would be great
Yeah I would like to get a real steel mp5 deactivated. I have a gas blow back mp5 with HK markings but I still think the real deal would be really cool. Maybe marstar could import one to be deactivated?
Gas blow back mp5? Can you explain or show me what this is?

What makes you "pretty sure", if you dont know for sure?
If it is deactivated, it is no longer a firearm. It does not even require a PAL.
(However, if you point it at someone, then the Criminal Code treats it as a firearm. )
So wouldn't it be possible for a company to import say a used one then have it deactivated?
The fail on this post is so overwhelming it doesn't even need a face palm. Wow.No can do. No prohibited firearms are allowed to be imported into Canada.
Well
To be honest. Owning a prohibited is pretty much like owning a deactivated
You can't bring it out and you can't shoot them
What's the difference ???
The difference is one is a firearm the other is a club.

It is my understanding that a dewat full auto can only be imported by an importer licenced for the importation of full autos, as if it were still functional. It would have to then be certified as deactivated according to current Canadian standards.
