Is there such a thing as a Laminate non- refurb SKS?

Like he said, letter guns. Easy to spot because they have the original acceptance marks and are red. Refurb stocks are brown.

Laminates were first issued to Vietnam as I understand it.Heavy moisture laden climate.

But, I think they got Chinese versions. Never heard of a Chinese laminate.;) I've got an unissued Russky, laminate stock, all numbers match, including the one on the stock. Definitely no refurb marks on it and almost a clear finish. No date stamp and no hint of manufacturer. If I get a chance, I'll post a pic.

The stock doesn't necessarily have anything to do whether its been refurbed or not. The receiver will have have a factory stamp of a square with a diagonal line through it. If the stock was in good shape, they might have reused it. Other signs of refurb are X's through the numbers on the stock or mismatched parts. There was no standard to how a rifle should be refurbished. They often did the minimum required to get the rifle back in the field.
