Is there such a thing as a winter trigger guard for a 870?

I have a buddy whose insists such a beast exists. Anyone else ever heard of one?

He probably talk about metal vs. plastic trigger guard because he heard some urban legends about the plastic one broke in cold condition.

Replacing the safety with one that has a larger head for easier use with gloves is the only thing that comes to my mind.
