i have a marlin 30/30 with a leupold rifelman 2-7x33mm scope on it. i have a freind that wants to trade me his remington 770 7mm mag with a tasco 3-9x50mm scope. is this a reasonable trade or am i getting the short end of the stick?

New guy or not.........almost looks like a sucessful trolling. I'm kinda thinking he knew the answer, and further baited ya with the $1200 tid bit. If he had presence of mind to reseach the $$ value, I don't think that he neglected to research the 770 either. The calibre comparison is a nil point when a potential $700+ loss is tragically apparent. Every outdoor forum in the world talks smack about the 710 / 770

Sorry, I'm just terribly suspicious. Not "tin foil hat" suspicious, just been on the board for a awhile.

Ya, you're getting ripped. Your combo has about 3x the value of his, and its a reliable firearm with a decent scope. His is unreliable with a crap scope.
