Kinda of a rookie in the rifle scene.. dont know what to go but came across this for 599.99

is this a gun first rifle ?

not sure I understand... but I got the main question!

any .223/556 would make a great first rifle.

mine was .22 though... cheaper to screw up with!
 
Please tell me where you are buying a S&W M&P15 rifle (5.56/.223) for $600 (IIRC Irunguns is charging approx. $900)

Are you sure you don't mean M&P15-22 (.22 lr) ? (these usually retail for $500-$550)

It is restricted. Range use only. If you have club membership, an ATT and don't ever want to shoot off a range, then it would be a good plinker.
 
I don't know, a restricted .22 ?......
It may be just me, but I got a problem with owning a restricted .22, when there are so many other options in "tactical" .22's that are non res., unless its used for budget friendly AR platform training... because there were no more .22 bolt kits for your already restricted AR...
 
I wouldn't buy a restricted .22lr
Look into the mossberg and the ruger sr22, they are non restricted and will do just as well, if not better. And the ruger sr22 can use butler creek mags, I forget what their capasity is off hand, but its much better.
Damn..now I want 1...
 
Ya I wouldn't bother buying a restricted 22 to start off with either. If you want a 22 there are many fine non restricted to choose from. If you are only interested in shooting at a range you would be better off spending a little extra to get a .223. A restricted 22 would be a good toy only after you get into shooting a bit and already have a few firearms.
