I have a p226r 9mil 3yrs old 2000rds through it, mint shape 4 mags.
Someone wants to trade me a colt lightweight commander with a 9mm barrell and a 38super barrell. 2 mags for each calibre.

it would be an even trade.
Also can I make it shoot 45 aswell?

I need help. I want a 1911, but I don't want to get taken.
I figure the sig is worth 900.00

The Colt is NOT worth $900 IMO but these are getting harder and harder to find. I don't know if you'd get $900 for the Sig either for that matter.

To make it shoot .45 you would need a complete slide/barrel assembly as well as a different ejector and extractor.

Better to keep it stock and get a .45.

Tell him I'll trade him my Glock 19 for the Colt.:D

Seriously I've been looking high and low for a LW Commander in 9mm.

I figure the Sig is worth maybe $750 but the extra couple of mags add a couple of bucks to that. Maybe try to sell it separately, you might get more money then a trade.

Since Colt Commanders are getting harder & harder to find, I'd say yeah it's a fair trade for the Sig...

"...can I make it shoot 45 as well?..." Not without changing the slide as a minimum. The .45's case head is significantly bigger than either the 9mm or .38 Super. It'd be less trouble and expense to find a 1911.

It's a trade I'd do...but then I love 1911's. ;)

If you are not interested, let prproulx know so he can possibly acquire the gun - he's one of the "good guys".

Jeff/1911.
