I dont know much about rifles but I thought this was a great deal:
SAKO A7 BLUED SYNTHETIC BOLT .308 WIN 22-7/16" BBL, BLUED, SYNTHETIC STOCK, ADJUSTABLE TRIGGER, DETACHABLE MAGAZINE, RECOIL PAD, SWIVEL STUDS, SLING SWIVELS, WEAVER SCOPE MOUNTS, BURRIS STEEL RINGS & BURRIS 3X-9X FULLFIELD II INCLUDED
all for $950, brand new.

How is this rifle better than my Tikka T3 Lite I just got?

Depends on what you consider to be "better". First of all, a T3 in .308 is a long action - all T3's are long actions. The A7 is available in a short action. The mag lips are steel in the A7, instead of plastic in the T3. Three locking lugs on the A7 bolt and shorter lift. The mag itself has that release system where you need to push the mag up while releasing in order for it to actually drop out. The A7 comes with Weaver-style scope mounts instead of Tikkas dovetail with add-on base options. The A7 also uses the same trigger as the Sako 85.

Ultimately, cost being equal I'd probably take the A7 over the T3. I've seen a lot of those "package guns" being offered with the Fullfield II scopes (which are quite good!) in that price range. In the grand scheme of things, the A7 was intended to sit between the T3 and the Sako 85 (closer to the T3 though) in terms of cost so those deals are pretty good.

If you hadn't already bought the tikka I'd suggest the a7, but I'm happy as he'll with my tikka, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep it in mind if you need a new calibre.

I sure would be leary of a synthetic bolt!
I think a rifle bolt should be made of steel.

Yes, you are crazy....
What was the question again!
Sorry, couldnt resist!
Sako and tikka are the same company just different manufacturing levels
Both beautiful guns

Yes its a good deal and an upgrade over the similar Tikka.

Its just the bolt shroud that is synthetic.....it can be replaced with a stainless steel one from a Sako 85......if you can find one.
