All the online sources I can find show the lampagyar as a military trainer, but this don't look like a trainer to me.

Trainer it might well be.

After all, we had our CNo.7s and Long Branch .22s, the Americans had the Springfield in .22. This is just the other guys doing much the same thing.

One point though: from the looks of that target, they were training some VERY good shots.

A treasure for sure.
 
I've got a Mossberg 42B at home that my son rescued from the dead. It was already bubba'd, sadly. Never thought to consider it a milsurp though. I've never shot a target with it but it's wompus bad medicine for gophers.
Maybe I'll snap a pic when I get home
 
There is another version with a slide tangent rear sight and fixed hooded front post sight. It also has a straight bolt handle, slimmer stock and sling swivels.
