Is this a problem, trying to get my PAL

I took the courses payed the fees and filed all the proper paperwork to get my RPAL. One of my references was unable to get a hold of the interviewers so he left a message which the RCMP who was suppose to get in contact with him again. I asked him to please phone them back and get the interview done before the "expiratory" date, he assured me that he would.
Yesterday the due date has passes and I found out that he did not do his interview as he promised so I ask where does that leave my application? Do I give the RCMP another person for reference, or do ask for an extension on my reference to get the interview done, or am I screwed?
 
Usually they will call you asking you to give them another ref. of course that will add to your wait time :(

My experience....expect delays.
I've had my PAL for about a year. I applied about 60 days ago to upgrade to a restricted PAL and had to call for 'screening'.
Spoke to a lady who obviously hates her job. What a waste of my time. 10 minutes on hold and then a total lack of customer service.
My application is being sent back to me for a new referral person. She didn't like the one I gave.
Don't even try to explain something, they don't care.
Good Luck!! Maybe you'll do better.
