Hey guys,
Well a friend of the family dropped of a package for me last week after I told him I was thinking about getting a M1 Garand.
It turns out it's a Springfield Armoury M1 Garand he says he bought about 15 years ago from Lever Arms I think and never got around to opening the package. It was still wrapped in the brown paper he bought it in and the whole thing is still covered in an ample serving of grease(cosmoline?).
I think's it's surplus but I haven't a clue about these guns and am wondering if there's anything interesting about it or if it's worth anything, these are the numbers:
On receiver: US Rifle cal 30M1, Springfield Armoury, 1488523
Right side of receiver: D28291-27
Trigger group: D28290-14-SA
Bolt: D28287-12SA, RE6B
Op Rod: 6535382SA
Inside the stock: nr-1488523
Dato Aug 1991, Skytte SJELLANDSKE PARKOMRADE (I think)
So... I guess it's not that old if it's from '91, but it's in some foreign language, is there any value to it or is it pretty basic and should I clean it up and go shoot it? And how much should I pay for it, cheaper the better, but I have to be honest with him...
Of course pics...
Thanks guys! Any help is appreciated!
