It sure looks that way to me. Brand new... unfired ar15 barrel. Sorry about the crappy pic, best I could do. It looks like a gouge to me... doesn't budge when a cleaning rod/brush runs by it (can definitely feel some extra resistance as it passes though).
I don't even know how something like this happens in a new, unfired, uncleaned modern stainless barrel. Any ideas? How brutally will this affect accuracy? Should I even try shooting it? The rest of the upper looks fantastic... virgin.
