I recently bought a Model 96 Swede with the purchase came this scope new in the box. My 6.5x55 is a deer gun for our corn fields 50 to 300 yds. Is this scope going to be ok? The only other scopes I have are Burris and a Leopold vari x II. But this came with the gun and is new. Help!

Why wouldn't it be? I mean, for sure test it and make sure it's holding zero...but it sounds to me to be the perfect magnification for your application, and the Banner, while not a Leupold, is decent enough.

If it looks clear/holds zero/tracks use it! The 6.5 is not a hard recoiling rifle, it should be just fine.

i found as i got older that i tended to replace all of my 3x9s with 4x12- the field of view is a little smaller, but i liked more magnification on the top end-all the better to see you with-
