Is this Desert Eagle colouring factory, or not?

I acquired this .44 magnum Desert Eagle second-hand.
It gets a lot of attention because of the two-tone colours. I hope the pictures show proper detail. It is a deep, rich, maroon / burgundy / mahogany main-frame and hammer/trigger assembly with black grips and slide.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen anything like this, or maybe knows some history. I want to put it up for sale, and I want to be honest about it's features.

Thanks ahead for your input.

Camille

What you have there is a Black Chrome finished MK VII Desert Eagle.

The plum colored frame/hammer/trigger is due to the metal structure (hardened to higher temp. than normal) or that the solution used to blued these parts wasn't up to specs so it gave the plum colored instead of the dark blue that it should normally be. The later is what I think since three metal parts have the same level of plum color, they must have been blued in the same solution one after the other.

It's a rather unique DE. Beautiful indeed.

I e-mailed the manufacturer with photos.
Their reply was
"It would appear as though that is the polished blue finish. The metal
getting a purple hue to it is common on the Israeli steel guns. I am not
sure what is different about their steel but, it seems they all do this
over time."
