Do you think it's a calf or a yearling? The photos aren't the best as they were taken from some distance away. My dilemma when I spotted this animal was that I couldn't decide if it was a calf or yearling. It's difficult to judge without a nearby cow to compare it to. A calf I could shoot but a yearling wasn't an option. Anyway being unsure I passed on the shot and took a couple of photos instead. I subsequently sent the photos to a C.O. I know and he had a MNR biologist look at them. The biologist did positively identify it as a YEARLING . Being unsure whether it was a calf or yearling I know I made the right decision not to shoot but if I had would I have killed a calf or a yearling. I will identify it later if this thread gets traction. Calf or yearling? YEARLING.
