Is this new SKS stock nomal?

I just bought a Chinese SKS from Marstar.
I received it this morning,after open the box,I found the stock is like this.
I don't know if it is normal or it need to be changed.
Please tell me your idea.

I don't know if that's normal for those SKSs but there's no reason to change the stock unless it's structurally unsound. Is that the top or bottom of the butt?

Nothing wrong with that stock. Its the way standard military sks chinese stock are. Somes can be rougher than others but does,nt affect the solidity of the stock. Clean your rifle and have fun

It is the top.

There's no reason to be sad the stock isn't perfect. Remember, it was made for the Chinese military and perfect wood wouldn't have been at the top of their priority list. Enjoy it for what it is, a sub-$200, reliable, cheap to shoot, easy to clean with the chrome bore, fun rifle.

If you want a prettier, more collectible rifle, get one of the equally inexpensive Russian refurbs.

Mine is even worse than that, I really regret not sending it back when I had the chance. It seems pretty common for factory 625 rifles, factory 306 is the polar opposite. I would send it back and buy a russian if it bothers you, the rifle is solid just not pretty.

My marstar stock is the ugliest thing I ever saw, and is way too short.

Knowing it will be changed out for a proper length and better fit stock is a given.

It may give you some comfort as you chop up and burn the old stock, or sell it on the EE and ask a respectable price.

Get a Tapco stock & upgrade the poor quality wood.
