Is this normal for an sks?

I just use Windex D at the range when I'm done shooting. Spray down all the parts and dry it off. When I get home I use Hoppes and G96. Never had any rust despite tons of corrosive filthy Chicom ammo through my SKS.

And the main ingredient of Windex is ...... Water......

It is the HOT water that dissolves the minute salt particles. The hotter the better use caution as to not get scald by the boiling water. Just think of trying to dissolve salt or sugar even soap, in cold or luke warm water then try it with boiling hot water, plus the heat in the steel helps dry the parts. I forgot to clean my tok once,,, that wont happen again, got a dark bore now, still shoots better than I can but lesson learned, allow time after your shoot to clean it properly and oil with something. Also as said above, you get to know your firearm well and get to inspect it for breakage, they are machines after all and machines break!
