Is this really unissued?

But remember the ones that got away. We've all been there. No amount of kicking ourselves will ever make it less painful when it is a must have in our collection.

A $1250 Longbranch will never be a "must have" in my collection. Unless it's a nice "mk1 No *".

Especially not when I still locate nice ones at the $300-450 mark without any real difficulty so long as I'm a bit patient.

I have to say I am very tempted with this one.49 is the only year I don,t have in my long branch collection.
$1250.00 is a lot.My 55 and 56 never cost that much combined! and they are much more difficult to find.
Do you think I should go for it?or should I wait for a better deal?

Eric

I would wait, but then, you clearly want it much more than I would. As Badgerdog points out, I passed one on to him for $450 earlier this year.

Any idea who this "Zefarm" dealer is?

.........never mind, got it off the "contact" page on the website.............

Jose Ruiz I think his name is. He does have a lot of interesting stuff on his site but all prices are like 1.5 to 2 times market it seems...but stuff sells even at those prices. Maybe he took a page from Joe Salter's book.

Lets face it, why give rare stuff away, they'll never make another 49 Long Branch will they?

Superbee- you just told me you turned down 49's for half the price...I'd wait guy! Every time you look at that beautiful 49 you'll suffer thinking about the double high price it cost...

What's wrong with Scotch tape?

I cut my first teeth on the gutta-percha grips of an Iver Johnson owlhead .32 that my Dad wrapped in Scotch tape (green) that he swiped from Aircraft Repair, where he was the Air Force chief inspector at the time (they were doing all different types for our air forces as well as a huge batch of P-39s for Russia). They had Scotch tape in several widths and in several colours. That was in very early 1945.

How far back Scotch tape goes, I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure it was on the market before the War. It was certainly used in the Service DURING the War.
