Is this scope too tall for an M305?

I got this from a buddy who got it for airsoft. It cost him between $150 and 200. He sold it to me for $25, because on his airsoft M4 it nearly outweighed the rifle. It's SOLID aluminum construction, with a really really wide FOV, and a great little reticle that has 11 red-illumination settings (from very subtle to very bright). The windage and elevation adjustment knobs are nice and solid too.

But... I think it was designed for an AR15. It's got a tall base, and it's got a hole through the base so you could use the front iron sight and use the base as a diopter. Unfortunately my AR15 is a stock CQ311, and I'm not inclined to modify it since I can only shoot it on a loud indoor 50m range.

Can I mount this on an M305 and use it properly? Will the peep hole work with the M305 front blade, or will things not line up?

I really really like the FOV and magnification this scope provides, and I even like it's ugly-duckling looks.

Anyone have advice?

You will notice that it also has what appears to be a picatinny base at 90 degrees to the AR-15 mount.

While it is likely designed for a co-axial mount of a flashlight or some such thing, you might be able to mount to the rifle by that.

I'm not sure that would be a mounting technique I'd like to do, good thinking outside the box though.

Are there any battle rifles that have flat tops and sights as high as an AR, that are non-restricted?

Now call me a blasphemer if you want but I did an experiment last year that will have you all shaking your heads. Either with wonder or disgust.

I was working on my Sages last fall and thought, what if?

Both Sage stocks are chop mods and both have a stripper clip guide 2 slot mount along with a Yankee Hill 7" long riser. I was also building an AR at the time with a flat top upper. I had also ordered a detachable carry handle with rear sight for my AR.

Anyway, I thought I'd put the carry handle on the Sage. It looked kinda slick but I had no way of mounting a front sight tower so the project really didn't get off the ground. I wish I had taken pictures then.

Now that I may have the front sight problem figured out, I'll try and put it all together and take pics then.

Something called ZOS, Chinese I think. Almost certain it's made for flat-top AR15's, because of the integrated tall base and peep hole. I don't know how well it works, because it's too tall for anything else.

Company called ZOS or Nantong. I looked into it, and they appear to be the manufacturer for all the cheap scops on the western market, that's why Walther and BSA look the same. http://www.zoscn.com/new/liebiao.asp?str=Red Dot

They don't appear to manufacture the solid-aluminum beast up there anymore, but my buddy it got it from a site called Redwolfairsoft, which also seems to be down now.

That's about what I know, it feels heavy, has a good FOV, and I don't know if it will hold a zero or not.
