Is this the dumbest and ugliest 17hmr rifle out there?

when I first saw the picture on my laptop, it looked like this:

looks pretty normal, then I moved the mouse to the side and found what you guys were freaking out over. I don't knowwhat to say about it, I'm speechless
 
Folks can rip on any design, but if it gets more kids out shooting it is a GREAT design... your ability to shoot in the future rests in the hands of voters that are just out of diapers... if this design appeals to them, more power to Mossberg et al...

Agreed gun is over the top with the muzzle brake. Other than that I don't mind it. I personally would not buy it.

To say Mossberg makes crap firearms is farfetched. That's like me saying Remington or Winchester or Browning makes garbage shotgun with no reasoning, data, polls, etc etc except to say "I tried one X number I years ago an it jammed up on me while a bear was charging at me blah blah blah"

I am not a mossberg fanboy by any means. I love all firearms.
 
Agreed mossberg has been coming out with over the top tactical firearms as of late. Only time will tell. There is obviously a market for these types of guns or else they wouldn't make them.

We are also in a "zombie" craze which is helping the "I need tactical" craze.
 
Exactly the point. You cannot kill zombies consistently with a plain gun. You need muzzle breaks, skull camo, battle sights, bayonets, etc. Looking for a new shot gun for my son to replace the 20ga Mossberg pump and of course the weatherby stuff with skull camo, pistol grip stock and battle sights is highly recommended by my under eighteens. Just for kicks i asked them what they thought of this rifle and even they thought it looked dumb." Isn't that off a big 50 sniper gun" they asked. A nice slim flash hider to keep us hidden from the gophers would look much better. LOL
