Is this the right scope for me?

I do understand the Rifleman line - I own 10 of them.
...
The Leupold Rifleman scopes are continuous dial adjustment for windage and elevation rather than 1/4" or 1/2" click.
I prefer the continuous dial over incremental dial adjustments.
I also prefer the less than $300 price tag.

Odd... the VX-1 is also friction adjusted for windage and elevation, and they are also less than $300. For the same magnification and objective size as a comparable Rifleman, they are the same price. So I still don't understand the Rifleman line.

I hate friction adjustments. They feel like something is broken inside. I would spend my money on the higher end models with click adjustments, better glass and better coatings.

But back to the OP...I'd stick with a 33mm objective or even go with a fixed power.

I prefer the Leupold VX 11 and 111. I need extra eye relief and the Leupolds are known for that. The 2-7,s and 2-8,s are nice and light and have a 33mm odjective, great for mounting low.
