I took my "Firearm Safety / Hunter Education Program" from "Sask Parks and Renewable Resources" in `93, shelved it, and haven't hunted since. I'm wondering if it's still valid (I still have the original copy), or if I need to redo it to get a hunting license now.

Thanks!

Not sure about your hunter safety course, but my son took his PAL course in 1999. He was about 12 at the time and he never sent it in. He called and explained the situation, they told him to send in his completed paperwork, you only needed to take it once. 8 Weeks later he got his PAL in the mail. So it could be just as easy. Good luck...

I'm sure you are ok to use it if you are buying a hunting license. That card is issued as a lifetime card because you only have to take the course once.

You're fine if you don't want to take the course again. I took mine in 91 or so and took a 15 year break from hunting and had no issues getting back in it. Like mentioned above, grab the new book and have a read. If you're still not sure, there's no shame taking the course again. I know a few old timers that have hunted since dirt was invented, and took the course with grandkids. Everyone can learn something new if they have an open mind.

It's a one time thing. You don't need to take the course again, but it might be a good idea to read the manual cover-to-cover just to refresh your memory.

If it is the little paper card, (probably the brown one) it is valid. The course is a one time deal. As long as you possess it, you can legally buy a Sask hunting licence.
