Got this Enfield revolver in a package with another gun, my grandfather used to have one a tanker model with a shaved hammer so I always wanted one, got this one and even tho it’s beat ta heck I love it but I’m wondering if the hammer was welded on after the fact or if it’s ####ty wartime production it looks welded to me but it also functions in single action unlike my grandfathers, any ideas?

Thought so, still functional in single action so I’ll probably leave it as is, maybe file some groves in for grip

If that is an original "tanker" (spurless) hammer and it works in single action then someone has been messing around with the sear engagement, all of the No.2 Mk1* and Mk1** I have handled had no ability function other than in double action. Just something to keep caution of if you plan to shoot it a lot in the future.

She’s pretty ugly so I plan to shoot it a lot by the sounds of it tho ammo supply will be my limiting factor
