Is tikka t3x stainless really stainless?

There's the chance that folk with *Stainless* ones are going to take ridiculous risks, not using any rust-preventatives, using them hard, rain on them, sweat on them, put them away wet and not even cleaned and all. But those who take reasonable precautions are getting better life even out of blued firearms and doing amazingly well with stainless guns.

300/400 low grade series SS, same stuff your cheap pots and pans bought from Walmart.
Aftermarket use better grades, hell I've still got some aftermarket in the white carbon barrels that have been sitting for years for projects with no rust.

Who isn’t using 400 series SS?

Being a red seal jman welder, I can comment on stainless corrosion and rusting.
Stainless steel is stainless steel. When you run into corrosion and rusting problems with stainless steel its usually because of cross contamination with carbon steel.
If
You use a bronze brush or a rag for wiping a blued steel gun, then wipe your stainless gun with the same rag or brush, you cross contaminate the stainless steel with iron carbides from the carbon steel. That will introduce rusting on your stainless.
A pipe welder never uses the same brush or grinding disc on mild steel than in stainless. He has seperate tools for the 2 different metals. One brush for mild steel, another for stainless steel. No cross contamination.
