Is your FX9 Reliable?

Just 1 question folks.
IS the FX9 as reliable as a CX4 STORM ?

I didn't own a CX4 or even fired one and I don't think that many folks here did fire and own both because the FX9 is prettty new in canada... I'd suggest to look for the CX4 thread and read it. The CX4 is around the same price but there is many reasons why I'll ever own one. Is the apple a fruit..., the orange is too.

After 250 rounds mine hasn't had any problems for the next 250 rounds - I have 500 rounds through it so far.

I've shot mostly 115g Remington factory ammo - have tried a little bit of 124g XMetal recently and had no problems as well.

My Glock 19 10 round mags don't hold the bolt open very often - but the PMags and SMG mags work just fine.

The first 250 rounds were pretty rough - but it's well lubed and seems to run well now.

I have owned and fired both . It’s a bit early to tell definitively but I’m finding my FX-9 to be just as reliable as my CX-4. However they are two fairly different platforms.

While the CX-4 polymer body pcc ( in 9 , 40 and 45 acp calibers ) is designed to have pistol like controls for compatibility with its PX-4 handgun cousin for similar mag and ammo load out , the FX-9 is pretty much an AR-15 clone in pistol caliber. Making it compatible with Glock mags was a clever design that will no doubt increase potential sales.

Both are awesome pcc platforms with a few notable quirks of their own. The Freedom Ordinance FX-9 has yet to stand the test of time like the Beretta CX-4 has but of the two I do prefer the FX-9. But then I’m an AR platform fan and hope to compete in multi gun games which favour that design.

Mine is working great. I found at first it did not like my light ipsc production loads but I have put about 400 since with a hotter load with 115s with zero issues. I am using Magpul 10 end mags.

Took mine out for the first time today! Cleaned it and oiled the crap out of it with lucas gun oil. Went extreme probably but it ran awesome! One jam up in 150 rounds which happen in the first mag i inserted. I was firing cheap sumbro ammo too! Everyone needs one of these

My CX4 ate anything, and had 0 issues before I sold it. Was laser beam accurate out to 50meters. No FTF, FTE, double feeds etc... nothing. Just click, bang, eject, repeat.

It may not be the prettiest gun, it may not use glock mags, but it is probably the most reliable 9mm carbine in Canada. While other guns have multiple generations to fix issues, the cx4 just works. Mind you, it was designed for law enforcement so I'd wager it had real R&D on it unlike the fx9, JR carbine, Sub 2000 etc...

Seriously considering now instead of waiting for the bcl badger
Would go well with my wk180c and glock hmm

Definitely a good choice, I wouldn't give BCL any money for any of their products. Just because they make something with a new name doesn't mean they're all of a sudden going to start making things right.

Yep after reading about the 102 problems..now to sneak this purchase in without the wife noticing is a different story lol

Yup the CX-4 is all those things .

Are folks still rushing out to get these despite the failure issues after reading these threads?

If these threads on cgn were all people had to go by no one would buy anything. People with issues like to complain more than people who get a good one care to tell us about it.
I'm not discrediting anyones issues with their fx-9 but the one I got to spend an afternoon with ran great. It fed from every magazine we had and all ammo we fed it. He did have a little trouble during the first 200 rounds but since then it's been great.
At least with these there is very little risk to the customer, with Wolverine taking care of issues you don't have to worry about being stuck with a lemon.

Took mine out first time and fed about 200 rounds through it at 50m.... I put some iron sights on it that worked ok where I was plating a target....ran like a tank though as I ate Blazer brass, federal aluminium and steel barnaul no jams or hiccups. Worked with original, mecgear, and some 10/30 mags of difference shapes and sizes. the long magazines will jam occasionally in a Glock 17. Ran flawless, next time I go out i'll put a red dot or sometime on it to try to get better accuracy.

Tried some usa forged garbage in it today just for the hell of it. It would not run atal in my norc np22. But the fx9 ate it like a champ!
