Hey everyone, recently got a new Ishapore Enfield. In typcial Gunnut fashion I want to show everyone what I bought.
It doesn't have a magazine, it is a one shot deal, and really looks hand made. Has some markings on it as well.
What is it? What do you reckon it's worth?
I don't think I'm game to shoot this thing.

Whatever it is, it looks like it started out as a NO.1 Mk3 Lee Enfield.

The Ishipore stampings and the kings crown dont look right at all.

Kypher pass rifle maybe?

Definitely looks like a Khyber Pass rifle to me. If that is the case, it's likely not safe to shoot, however they are collectible in their own right as I believe not many of them made their way to Canada.

I'm sure someone will be along to correct me shortly

That's pretty cool, you don't often see a KP rifle out here in Kanukistan. What freaks me out is that someone cut it down into a sporter and likely used it as their hunting rifle-yikes!!

Not really a shooter , but a cool find.....lots of history behind Khyber Pass Rifles if that is what it is . Did you get a good deal on it ?

I think it was a good deal. It was just a interesting rifle. The stock bolt looks like it was a nail or something at one point, and ghurdeep added some threads and a slot of the end.

ONE OF THESE FOR SALE AT COLLECTORS SOURCE
as I understand it Indians can only own single shots....

PS: That has to be a Kyber Pass copy.
She really looks like a wall hanger to me.
I wouldn't shoot it unless I had the rifle properly sandbagged and before I pulled on the parachord tied to the trigger I'd make sure I was behind protection.

Did you look down the barrel? Many of these rifles were converted to shoot a .410 shotgun cartridge, you might have stumbled upon one of those.
