Winchester - Model 53 Musket - extremely rare; finest example known. Winchester B3 scope. - .22 long rifle, 28” barrel. - Excellent condition. - To the best of our knowledge, three are reported to exist in original configuration, with this reportedly the best condition specimen known among the survivors. This is the exact gun pictured in Houze’s book “The Winchester Model 52”, which notes this model was introduced as a training rifle for military academies ca. 1924-1925. - Barrel & action retain 98% thinning original blue. Barrel bands mottled blue & plum; excellent markings. Excellent wood w/ minor handling marks. Winchester B3 scope retains 90% blue, good optics, in Nov. 5, 1907, patent marked mounting bases.
