the Swedish AG42B is 6.5X55. The Hakim I believe is the same rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser, the Egyptians used it and so the Israelis captured a bundle. That may be the confusion. In 1949 the Israeli's where fighting with whatever anyone would sell them, its not impossible that a few Ag's got down there that way, but 6.5 has never been an official caliber.

Are you refering to the AG42b? It's Swedish, not Isreali.
