Israel Military Industries Vs. Magnum Research

Before I pull the trigger on an auction for a .44 Desert Eagle I need to know if the feds differentiate between "Made in Israel" and "Made in the U.S." when importing an IMI/MR from the U.S. Does anyone have first hand knowlege? Thanks.
 
Could be wrong...but my understanding is that magnum research is just the importer/distributor....all the firearms are made in Israel by Iwi...they are producing some fine firearms..
 
From Wikipedia: "1995, when MRI shifted the manufacturing contract and license to Saco Defense in Saco, Maine. In 2000 MRI shifted manufacturing back to IMI, which later reorganized under the name Israel Weapon Industries. Since 2009 the Desert Eagle Pistol has been exclusively produced in the USA only, at MRI’s Pillager, Minnesota facility. " So anything pre-'95 will be Israeli made. They're the only ones at my price point.
