The israeli's contracted for 2000 of these from FN in the 50's and sent 1000 to South Africa and kept 1000 in Israel.
 
Gorgeous looking rifle. My Israeli K98 .22 looks like it was at the centre of Berlin in 1945 before it was converted by Israel.... yours looks like it was never even fired (of course mine is not the FN version)!

My Isreally mauser is built on a BRNO post war rifle with a remington 521 barrel. The bolt handle is so rough its unbeleavable, this is my second one and had it less than a week and sold it at a lost as condition wasnt up to my standards.Accuracy was excellent 1" groups at 50 metres with military sights and mismatch ammo.the IM pictured is the nicest ive ever seen, hope U hang onto it ,Dale in T-Bay
