Israeli K98 in 308

I guess I am not alone in dreaming ......................... from the EE wtb

K98 German made Mauser rifles
Looking to buy K98's , Russian capture or otherwise as long as they are German and preferably with markings intact. Will pay between $450 - $550 shipped all in depending on condition , make ETC.. So if your looking to move a K98 Mauser quick for cash message me.

What is fair price

I have to ask, I have one built on Gew 98 Spandu 1916. It has the 1920 still on the reciever -faint but still there. A few waffenmarks left rear sight etc. Decent shooter, few safe dings. 7.62 convert.

Hard to say most likely converted/modified to Kar 98 standard by the Weimar Republic, then end up in Israel post WW II and converted to 7.62 and re-stocked. I have some notes on teh conversion I need to dig up if you would like more info.

Well , as I said , if you don't ask you will never Know .

Randy a fellow CGNer happen to want to sell me a BRNO / Israeli 308 convert for my posted price , Thank You Randy !!!!!!

Receiver & bolt matching , barrel was pristine ,, very nice stock !!

Had her out to day , it shoots better than me with my old eyes .

308 NATO surplus ammo used , no hand loads yet ...

Awesome results!!!
Nice looking and great shooting rifle you've got there, congratulations!

Your patience certainly paid off!

I got one, Took it on a trade.

Its not the nicest looking, someone drilled and tapped it for scope bases. Could use a better trigger.

Hi John , Thank you !

Be nice to see what it could do with a scope but I will not drill it . Next trip to the range I'll try 100 yards .....

Hi Okayshooter

You also have a very nice looking rifle !!

Very good shooting at 100 , I am jealous of you and Johns 100 groups !!

When I got mine there wasn't a rear sight on it, I put one on and tired irons but eyes sucked. Also didn't like how high it shot. I since found a taller front sight post from a 96 sweed.

I was lucky the sights are all original and required no adjustment ,, the only problem for me is I need to wear my reading glasses to see the very small front and rear sights , the target at 50 yards was ...well Fuzzy .

I fired the 10 rounds at a rather quick pace and only when I got close to the target did I see the fairly good results , have to find a different type of glasses to shoot with .

I will shoot at 100 and try the 200 yard gong for fun .

My Norinco JW 25a the 22 lr copy of the K98 I was able to hit the 200 yard gong 3 out of 5 times , this was the first time I had it out to the range , ( 3 X 9 Power scope ). It shot 1 in at 50 Yards 10 shot group with CCI mini Mags ,, Great shooting rifle for $200 !

My Norinco SN 522 shot - 3/4 in, 10 shots at 50 yards with Auto Match bulk ammo ... the black stick on "shoot and see" is 1/2 in.
