Israeli k98 original finish?

Little off topic

Pblatzz - does yours have the 1920 marking right around the 7.62 it would be just above the crown. Mine is quite faint but still there. Just curious.

In the next 12 months I'm hoping to have a huge auction sale of at least 1/2 my collection so I can focus on a specific area with what's left ... ;)

Doug

I'm in line as well, you have some real beauties!

For comparison, I have a .22 Israeli trainer built off a Kar98a action. A 1920 mark is visible on the receiver but the date and maker are gone as this was cut away during the .22 conversion. Other bits and pieces appear to be from Kriegsmodel Kar98ks with some of the dirty birds intact. She has a green kind of parkerization all over her metal bits that is somewhat faded.

She shoots damn nice too.

Pblatzz, that is one nice Spandau! There is enough history on that rifle to write a full length book.

Yup.. bought it at a local gun show a few years ago, but I'm not sure why now .. :D

I think it was during my binge years where I tried to collect one of everything but with no focus ....
