israeli marked russian sks

Still looking for some reasonable info on my Chinese SKS with absolutely NO markings whatsoever, except for small stampings where bbl meets receiver...even that, it's just one or two alignment arrows. Bought from Marstar 3 yrs ago. But I am patient.

the Chinese sks carbines brought into the US in the 70s or 80s were from Egypt rebuilt with Russian parts painted black usually as part of the Egyptian process They are a good collectors piece and came in in one shipment some were excellent to new others showed use.

The "Egyptian" theory isn't as strong as it once was. In fact it is debunked.

Many guns once thought to be "Egyptian" are actually Israeli captured SKS out of the Lebanon war sent to the PLO and Syrian by China. There is no evidence that China aided Egypt, as during that time Russia aided Egypt, who later received aid from the West.

Israel didn't mark their captured SKS like they did with the AKs.

Yeah... I would love to see any evidence of this bedtime story. Facts are, distributors and retailers receiving these guns saw Arabic stock numbers and jumped to conclusions due to similar imported Hakims, rasheeds etc. Egypt is far from the only middle east nation to do this. Research and data trumps theory every time.

The similar russian examples were inported right along side the Chinese..... From Israel, captured over several years from the PLO and Syrians most significantly in Lebanon.

Unfortunately, the rifle in the OP does not appear to be one. They were however imported to Canada via the Canadian Century branch during the same timeframe.

Furthermore, the only 'rebuilding' that ever took place on these rifles were done by either the plo or syria. They did not 'use' russian sks parts other then russian stocks were commonly fitted to chinese, and Chinese commonly fitted to the russians. Painting the butplate and gastube black was a cheap way out rather then rebluing and the stocks are often reshellaced very slopy (over the crossbolt etc).

(Some) of the Chinese rifles WERE ASSEMBLED IN CHINA HAVING SURPLUS NOS RUSSIAN STOCKS and blued bolt carriers. These same guns were also exported to the US straight from China in new condition and are labeled norinco. Hundreds of posts on the net showing these guns which came here from china in this configuration and the stacks are known russian because the russian tefurb marks are clear as can be.

Point being..... Russian stocks were fitted in china prior to export as aid and the bolt carriers blued. The other set of normal configuration chinese rifles sent often received a stock swap from either a russian rifle or one of the chinese rifles fitted with a russian stock IN China
