Israeli Mauser question

Is it so unusual to have matching serial number with these rifles. I have one that the bolt and receiver match? It is a BCD 1941.

Nope. The Israeli's used whatever they could get early on. Captured K98's among the rifles they used.

Most of them match, but those which don't MUST be checked for headspace before heading to the range.

Israeli K98's

I am positive all my Israeli K98's bolt and receivers match. Can't say for sure about the rest. The three Mausers in my collection manufactured by FN for Israel are all matching. Two are in 7.62 and one is a .22 cal Model 24/30 which is quite rare, only about 1,000 or so manufactured. Don't confuse it with the remanufactured K98's into .22 cal.
