Israeli Mauser

I wish you the best on your move to Europe. I consider you a very prominent CGNer. I remember you having posts with really nice surplus rifles.

No worries... I will be an active member of this forum until I can no longer type. Will still retain an apartment in Ontario for six months of the year, and there's no rules against antiques in that building. My conventional firearms will have to go to good homes.

That's a real nice Czech made one you got there! Wood's real nice though I'm surprised to see that this plant didn't do stamping the same way for all the post-war Mausers it put out. I've seen an example where, where on yours Brno and the manufacturer info is, instead has the Czechoslovak coat of arms, and has the manufacture info on the side

Well, I am back up to four. Scooped a nice one at the Brandon show. It doesn't have the 7.62 brand on the stock. It also has a beech stock, plus is a good shooter. Posted earlier.

You should have an engraving on the action someplace, or it might possibly an unconverted model. Would be the first time I've heard of an unbranded 7.62 Israeli Mauser if it turns out to be the case, neat find if so.

Sorry, maybe not well written. It definitely is a 7.62, has that stamped on the action, but not on the stock. I've had the rifle out for a shoot.

10 years ago Numrich had brand new Israeli military wood
for the 7.62 98k mausers. They were beech and not branded.

That's about the nicest Israeli I've seen. I had one and traded it a few months back. Still kicking myself...

Well done!

A newly acquired Israeli Mauser. Comments are welcomed.

Mint bore. Matching bolt.

That's a nice looking Mauser . too nice for you LOL . bring it to the show on Sunday and I'll give you $50 dollars for it .

Hi
Nice rifle

Sorry slight thread drift,

I know some 7.62's can't use 308, but as these are 8mm mauser converted to 7.62x51 are they safely capable of using 308 ?

just thinking of the future if 7.62 gets a bit scarce

cheers J
