Israeli sniper M14 rifle parts question.

a good portion of different's book is still on line- imageseek.com- however, in the article his numbers are 10,000 built systems and 39000 imported- the rest being disassembled for spare parts

?????

ALL USGI M-14s had 1 piece oprods. That means H&R, Winchester, Springfield & TRW.

"Springfield Armoury-Geneseo & Texas" & some other US manufacturers of semi-auto M1As or M14"S"es often used rewelded demilled op-rods, or new manufactured Op-rods which were 2 piece fabrications.

ALL Chinese M-14S, M-305 ect. have used 1 piece op-rods.

Sorry, they may look like one piece but AFAIK TRW was the only manufacturer that was able to produce one-piece oprods. All other manufaturers, including Norinco, produced oprods in two pieces that were welded together.

USGI TRW, Poly Tech & Norinco and the new SEI op rods utilize forged 1-piece construction.

yup that's correct, TRW, Norinco and now there is a new manufacturer all made thier oprods out of one piece forged steel.
ALL other manufacturers of oprods over the course of the rifles history, were constructed of 2 piece milled steel, the tube being welded to the oprod arm.

I have had a chance to evaluate a new manufacture one piece frged, usgi spec oprod...... very nice. I will also be receiving new manufacture usgi spec trigger groups as well as bolts in the near future. Hopefully these will be seen on our market in the not so far away future ;) :D
It is truly a testament to the popularity of the m14 type rifle in canada that some very capable and skilled outfits are starting to seriously endeavor to bridge the lack of parts gap for this fine rifle.

Of particular interest is the fact that this thread provides further evidence that all of the parts kits on offer from Wolverine Supplies are authentic sniper grade rifles - the very best M14 rifles Israel was able to put together.

I'll be very interested to see how many of the standard profile barrels are in fact national match graded.

These are top shelf parts, pretty much unobtainable these days even south of the border. :d

what is the stock?

Two of my israeli military issue Leatherwood 3x9 ART II scopes that came with m14 rifles I
got in Israel. As you can see, they are the same as the USGI scopes except the mounts are
aluminum instead of steel.

Wait....

Don't buy ONE, BUY TWO of them! You are gonna regret ya never bought TWO parts kits!

Ha ha ha ha Been saying this since 2003 when CGNutz (or was it 2002?) started up. Darn, I'm getting old and forgetful!

Cheers,

Barney

I have a question, bipod and scope mount? What to use and where to locate?

These stocks are all set up with a sling stud to accept a Harris bipod, approx. 80% still have the stud, no guarantee's. We have plenty of Harris bipods in stock and these are what were originally fitted. We also have the ARMS # 18 scope mounts in stock and these must also have been originally fitted as I have found the remains of the scope mount instead of the stripper clip guide in some of the kits. we are also short several stripper clip guides which also indicates that these mounts were used, how ever most rifles were set up with early single screw mounts like the first Gen Springfield mounts.

Add a Harris bipod and ARMS mount to your order now to save on shipping costs. We will start packaging and shipping today.

I have two of the israeli 98k 308 sniper rifles. The scope are wild 4x made by the Swiss. They made some of
the best optics at the time. The mounts are heavy spring loaded to hold scope in place
