ISSC M22 .22lr Pistols

I finally got to the range. I was able to see if my fixes worked and they did. The gun went from not being able to shoot a full mag trouble free to running mag after mag reliably. Polishing the chamber fixed the sticking cases. Polishing the feed ramp fixed the FTF. The most important was filing the the extractor claw. It came from the factory with not enough room to grasp the rim of the cartridge. The gun now works with various ammo including Remington subsonic. This was a surprise. This gun will be going to the range on every trip. As long as no one notices that it’s pink.

Good info for noting. Thanks for posting.

Still got mine but it's not getting any range time. Not convinced I'll be keeping it.

I much prefer a 1911 with .22 conversion or the GSG 1911 .22 or one of my Rugers.

So far my pistol has had no fte's and two ftf's. I've fired only 15 rounds through it since it was purchased, but the front sight came off during firing. Does anyone know who I get my warranty through? The local gun shop wants me to buy the part and pay them to install it. I just need the part through warranty. Hope someone knows, thanks.

Bought the pink model for my girlfriend, I actually like it so far, even though it hasn't been fired much, it seems to function quite well. I am not allowed to use it at the range without a front sight apparently and have not purchased a rail yet. It has five safeties and works well with HV CCI. I also use the copper plated rounds. I think that's why mine doesn't fail to eject. I saw videos of fte's every two or three rounds. Not the case with my set-up. The target model comes with a compensator and a 4lb trigger. Apparently glock sights will fit and found a tru-glo front sight for 40 bucks. Shouldn't have to buy that though, should be covered under warranty. It's not like I dropped it or fiddled with it. It literally flew off my gun while firing.

Thanks for reading.

1911 .22lr was my personal choice for myself. Next 22 I buy will probably be that handgun. Do you own it? Is it a good purchase?

I don't understand building a gun that will not work, or people buying them, But I don't understand " service da. 22) in the first place.

I wasn't happy with my M22... I recently sold it on consignment via my local gunshop with full disclosure re it's fussiness on ammo.

Buyer was well aware anyway, as he was also at the range when I was test-firing it.

As stated above I have other .22lr pistols that I am quite fond of that I will stick to.

I bought one for my daughter because it fit her the best. The pink with silver slide. I did so knowing the possible problems. I did have problems. From ftf, fte and jamming. Most were easy to fix with polishing the feed ramp and chamber. The fte took time to fix. I compared my Norinco m93 to my m22 and found that the ejection hook was very small and not hooking the rim properly compared to the 93.

Wasn't a Norinco M93 more satisfactory for your daughter than the M22? I allowed my 13-year old grandson to shoot the Norinco M93 and he enjoyed it very much. The M93 is small enough and slim to fit a kid's hand.

I bought mine about a year ago. Was able to pick it up brand new for only 250$ and that is why I bought it (even after reading all the bad reviews and problems that they have)
Tested a few types of ammo, landed on CCI mini mags as there are fewer problems while running it
Within the first two hundreds rounds of straight CCI i would say at least 10% would ftf and fte
Polished the crap out of the chamber and feeding ramp, but still have problems
I have found that if I clean it every 300 rounds or so and use very little oil it will run better
Now i would say I am at about 2% of rounds fired have problems, still not great for being a brand new gun but I didn't pay much for it in the first place nor did I expect much from it
If you can get one for cheap and dont mind spending some time fixing it up then go for it, and if not then spend a little bit more and get something that will work out of the box.

She prefers the ergonomics of the m22. I had her feel lots of pistols and that is what she picked. It is quickly becoming a favorit in the family.

Have you considered the S&W M&P22? Mine has nearly 3000 rounds through it and no issues. It'll eat pretty much anything, I shoot mostly Blazer 40g lead and buy it for @7¢ a round. It is quite accurate too for a duty style pistol.

well, the new M22 Omni is supposed to have cured all the function evil's.

I'm also interested in the new Raptor and the bonus is the two pistols share the same magazine.

Having not enjoyed the M22 the first time around I'll stick to my other .22 pistols.

I had bought one for my girlfriend and she only used it once ( and loved it ) and it had quite a few FTE’s. I took it to the range one time after that with the same issues and also a couple light hits using CCI Mini Mag. She’s kind of bummed out that her brand new gun that she only got to use once had to go back. I returned it to the dealer for warranty and I still haven’t received it back. Called yesterday for an ETA and was told if it needs parts it could take 4-6 weeks. It’s been out now for about 3-4 weeks. Nice little gun if they can work out the bugs.

stung once, twice shy...I understand. ;)

Not too long before getting into that ISSC M22 [that didn't work out for me] I acquired a vintage Ceiner 'Platinum Cup' 1911 .22 conversion unit mated to a Springfield Armoury NM 1911A1 frame. It eats everything flawlessly & is super accurate to boot. Also, it is fully functional with the GSG 1911 mfg .22lr 10 shot magazines. So yeah, no way ISSC is getting any more $$ from me. :)
