ISSC Rifle... very disappointing!

That was posted here last week. Obviously this guy was having issues so thats why he turned the camera on to document it.


One of the first things that i remember learning from the older experienced members at my club is that if your firearm is malfuntioning repeatedly, something is obvoiusly wrong so STOP SHOOTING !!! and have it taken apart or inspected by someone qualified to do so. Most of these people keep blindly firing away until something catastrophic happens and then blame the firearm.

The problem is that there are CGN'rs that are posting that it happened to them as well but some of us are calling BS on their claims because we are not convinced that they even own an MK22. Looks to me like mass hysteria could be caused by a few people multiplying peoples claims over a screw coming loose that holds the bolt in place which from doing extensive online research seems to have resolved 95% of these failures.
 
well sadly your right, my guess right from the start was another R22 but then the grizzly shotguns had some issues with some and not others etc, and Ballox I read what your calling BS on and I agreed, the video shows what the problem is and there was NO room for a bullet to exit the action and take out the neighbours cat to the left lol, by the way there are some CGN's that love them upwards of 1000 rounds and only a few ftf or fte .....wish some of my 1022s only had a few to some days lol
 
Are these shipping yet from CGN dealers?....I pre-ordered in the spring and I've paid in full for mine (a month ago) and haven't received yet.....
 
lol there are obviously issues with some of these guns.... What you buy and how you justify it to yourself is your own business but I find it silly to imply that people are lying or blowing things out of proportion to make the firearm seem worse than it really is...what possible motive would someone have to do that. All I can say is that I reported my issues in hopes to save others from buying the same problem-prone gun I did, or at the very least provide more information for others to make an informed decision. Feel free to ignore the numerous reported issues if you wish.
 
n00b no one is dicrediting your claims, if you missed what was claimed, it was that the action was wide open and it fired in such a way to send the bullet out the ejection port rather than down the barrel is what there claiming BS on, ftf fte are common issues with alot of semi auto 22s usualy due to ammo choices, in your case there is a issue with a set screw of sorts in the rifle may have backed off causing you greef. as I said earlier the issc scar is no different than the rhineland arms R22, hit or miss with production of a shooter, its not like these companies have been in the buisness as long as ruger or mossberg etc they made a cool toy and pushed it out prematurly imho

Dont worry nOOb , we're not referring to you.... Your complaints seen legit unlike others that don't even own the gun in question.
 
SO I went to the range this afternoon/evening.
I am happy to announce that Im the glad owner of an ISSC Mk22 (i call it my mini-scar)
I slowly fired about 30 rounds to warm up the barrel and function test the action.
after that was done (all of which using 4 different types of ammo)
I shot at 25yrds, seated with a rest. (no I dont have pics) I grouped 5rounds within 1"-1.25" with the Rem. thunderbolt being the worst performing.

As far as the rest of the time went I plinked at 50 and 100yrds and hit the paper. Its not much of a tack driver, but as far as being tacticool its quite legit. I can hit what I aim for standing or seated with a rest. Its tricky to get use to the iron sights. I will probably swap out the stock ones for another set, but keep irons on the rifle. I ran a mini torture test and also grabbed a mixed bag (25rnds) of the dirtiest, oldest, most haggard looking .22LRs I could find and ran them through the Mk22 rapid firing..more on that later.
Results are as follows:
CCI Blaser-Zero Stoppages, FTFs, FTE, Jams, and groups well. I grouped the best with Blasers.
Rem-subsonics-Zero Stoppages, FTFs, FTE, Jams. It groups sparsely but its within 2"
Rem-thunderbolt-One complete stoppage (was a real #####, this round would not eject or fire. pried it out with a knife. 2 Jams that fired and ejected, 2 FTE...that box of 500 doesnt look like such a great deal after all. I have had problems with this in my 597VTR as well. I will never buy thunderbolt again.
Rem-Viper-cycled the best. Zero Stoppages, FTFs, FTE, Jams, and groups well.

So that nasty bit of a torture test. I had all random ammo, some was winchester, others were remington yellowjackets, CCIs, and all of these rounds were rolling around in a tool box for many years. I wiped them off a little and filled a mag. every 6th round or so I had some kind of FTF or jam. I racked the bolt hard (sometimes more than once) and the round usually cleared. THe biggest and most overlooked problem I encountered was that the mags are finicky. I would suggest regular cleaning and a light oiling after each use.
Hope this is useful to someone.
 
Bought mine at shooters choice, impulse buy. Got it in tan, so far so good. I think they still have some in stock.

Only about 100 rounds through it but no problems.

Love the looks and the price was right.

Have not read any reviews other than What is posted in this thread. Everyone who has posted (good or bad) about should have to pose with it to verify ownership.

Seems like sometimes people post and embellish stuff for the sake of posting. Maybe not, but seems that way lately. Along with many tales of police and RCMP wanting to see storage, particular gun, etc.........:jerkit:

Just snapped some, they'll be up tomorrow. Also got some shots of the vault room now that tv is up and flooring is complete (and the ISSC is mounted).

Its 2011, we have all sorts of #####en cool technology, like phones that are pretty much computers, 3D fricken HD TVs, and pretty damn convincing breast implants. :D

There isn't any reason why I can't have an affordable #####en cool looking 22 that's also reliable also. :p

Honestly though, I was going to get one of these. Now I think I will wait a bit till the internet dust settles.. Hard to tell if this is a big deal or not. :(

In most cases, new products that hit the market need improvement. Thats why i stay away from the "first runs". Give em time to figure out what needs fixin', and by the second or third batch, i'm confident these guns will have more pros then cons.

I miss the rotary phone.
And the slide rule!:)

Wouldn't mind if the ole gal had some of them newfangled implants, though.

Don't know how old your "ole gal" is, but i saw those implants on an "older" lady this summer. Not "retired old, but not 30 either. She was enjoying the beach monokini style. AAnd let me tell you, one thing that doesn't look good is implants on a woman who just doesn't have the rest of the body to go with it. It was plain disgusting.

I have to say i personnally stay away from any girl/woman that has implants, no matter the age. I find that sh**t repulsive. Would prefer to deal with small and authentic rather than big and fake. Personnal preference.

Sorry, got lost for a minute there, back to topic. :p
