ISSF Match in Ottawa

D Range across from the NCRRA club is 300M? Never mind spectating, get out and shoot. You need 60 rounds plus sighters.

Basically it's a 300 meter/yard match where 60 shots are scored. You shoot prone in either Target Rifle or F-class. Sighters are unlimited as far as I know, and what we shoot a Camp Borden is 20 for score on one relay times 3. The scoring is V,5,4,3. I believe the V bull is 1 MOA or less. So if you want to shoot, show up with about 80 bullets. Check with the NCRRA on their website.

Word is it will be on A range (300yd) as many mounds have been graded for the world shoots this summer and they are trying to grow grass. Target should be the ISSF. A bit like a smallbore shoot, shoot 60 shots after sighters, bring them back and score them. Shots are indicated from the butts as well and patched with removable tape. I believe the Swiss clubs will also be banging away at the same time.

For 300 yards it is scored 10, 9, 8,7 etc. At 300m it is scored X, 10, 9,8,7 etc. Single string can be a killer when shooting with a jacket and sling. Who said a 6.3 Kg rifle was an advantage:bangHead: I need to have a nap about 1/2 way through the string.

well if i can swing the 80 rounds for my 300WM before sat i will come out to play if not i will just pop by to watch

This is a Swiss A10/A5 Target.
Dimensions are indentical to an ISSF 300m target except for the added A5 (red) scoring rings.

X ring = 5cm dia.
10 ring = 10cm. dia.
9 ring = 20cm. dia.
8 ring = 30cm. dia.
etc...etc........
1 ring = 100cm. dia.
Black begins at 5 ring, 60cm/23.60"

This was on "D" range at Connaught just after the "new" concrete butt was finished.

This Saturday, the 9th of June, starting at 0900 hrs, we will be firing the Sierra Prone Match which is shoot on “A” Range, at 300 yards, on an ISSF target comprising of 60 rounds on score. This is another co-operative effort, as the Swiss Section is shooting their Regional Shoot with teams from Toronto and Montreal attending. The Swiss have a very compatible match with the ISSF, so it may be possible to shoot concurrently the Club ISSF and the Swiss equivalent. The more the merrier.

We plan on having the kitchen staffed with light refreshments and lunch being available. Let's make an effort to attend

On Sunday, the 10th of June, there is no range available to us at Connaught. BUT there is a competition at Kingston offering a full slate of shooting at 300, 500 & 600 yards. A contingent from the Club is going down, so if you are interested, come on down.

That is the official word.
