Really? This is my second XCR keymod, and neither has had any slop in them.

What I do find odd is that the raised ridge is on the opposite side,from OP,s.Ill disassemble and reassemble,see if I can change that.

I posted the pics. Maybe your .308 may rattle , because of the larger recoil. But I guarantee mine don't rattle. I'm going to retest the same loads, make sure it wasn't a fluke.
So maybe luck ,but it don't take much to skill to shoot MOA groups at 100 yards. If the gun is capable.

Agree, mine is not flush on the charging handle side, has ZERO wiggle or rattle in the joint.
I have shot it once for groups(checking zero) with the .223 pencil barrel at 100 meters and had an 1 5/8" group with a 1.7-5 Burris scope and factory ammo off a harris bipod. I believe it will do better with handloads and a higher mag scope.
I currently use it with the stock BUIS.

Ive got a couple 1000 rds through mine, its mint, no rattle, you must have got the Mon or Fri production model. Lucky, no such thing and who has time to make a claim like that at 6am on a work day...havent you got more important things to do right now.

Except the guy I hang with can't shoot worth a bean, and there's no way he's got 1,000's of rounds through his XCR, cause he just looks at it and poses with it. I'm sure you know the type.
And yes, your xcr rattles too.

I can feel mine "clunk" (best I can describe it) as I hold it up in shooting position holding the pistol grip and when I tilt it side to side I feel the "clunk".

Everything/anything is real nice and tight when you put it together for the first time. Then you run little explosive pills through it at 50,000 PSI many many times and things stretch and rub to their natural resting state.
Others have already said it's totally normal Sir. And yes it is still obvious. Just look at the design, you don't need a university degree in the Rob Arms XCR or 100 hrs on the gun. Just look at how they fit together when you assemble the rifle....
And yet others have no movement after hundreds of rounds... and it isn't a couple thou of an inch movement. It clunks when moved back and forth.

I'm just saying, mine did it too when I owned it. And it never made any difference to the accuracy or reliability. Never had so much as a stoppage after hundreds of rounds after I changed my extractor spring.
Some are clearly made tighter fitting at the hinge point than others. Like some AR's, the fit between upper and lower on one will be very tight same manufacturer but a different rifle will be loose and rattling. Is your rifle experiencing stoppages? Accuracy loss (not that there's much to lose in an XCR! lol)? It's nothing man. Unless it's so bad its causing your gun to jam or not function properly it's just like most every other one out there.

I'd love to see a picture of a few five round groups on the same piece of paper, I think that .8 will double and triple...
Sounds like you have convinced yourself there is a problem with your rifle. It also sounds new like your not pleased with the answers your gettIng. If your not happy with it then get rid of it. Post a vid of how much play you have between upper and lower. I doubt it's that bad
Well one was in the 8,s and 2 groups in the 9,s.they were 5rnd groups. I posted it in the XCR sticky.post 2046.
The two groups using benchmark are on the same paper.
I'm curious to see if it can be consistent as well, a bit skeptical though. Anyway as soon as I get some more 53 g vmax I'll try again.
