Issue with 7.62x54R and certain powders

At our American Lake City Army Ammunition Plant Remington ran this plant from 1941 until 1982. And used their 7 1/2 and 9 1/2 primers to light off Winchester ball powders in the military ammunition.

I use Remington primers with all my ball powders, now look at the photos at the link below and the Remington primers firing.

This backs up what I have experienced with win 748 in the x57 cases. Win 748 with rem 9 1/2 primers is my go to load for 195 gr in the 8x57 mausers (near max charge worked up in .5 gr increments to match the sight regulation on my m48 out to 500m). I tried win 748 with cci 200's (large rifle primers) in my 7x57 and was getting hang fires and lots of fouling. Have not tried magnum powders but based on what I'm reading here I may have to give it a try.

The ball powders don't like light loads or weak primers. IIRC winchester used to warn against reduced loads with 748 and 760.

Sorry for the long delay in following up. Life got a bit complicated and I just took my Mosin to the range last weekend. I loaded up 8 rounds with 50gr H335 but this time with Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primers. All 8 went off without any problems. I know that 8/8 does not conclude I have solved my problem, but it would appear so. I will load some more, and also try loading some Win 748, all with Magnum primers.

Thanks to all who suggested magnum primers!
