Hey guys. Hoping someone here can shed some light into my issues. Although they're more of a hindrance than anything I'd still like to fix it up.

First issue is that when I push up after my pull down, when the extractor goes to kick the finished round out it jams from time to time. I found that pushing down the metal clip that's there to extract can sometimes help, but other times it doesn't. Sometimes it goes super smooth for like 4-5 rounds, then jams. I have to either pull back down and pull it out or give it a little push again.

Second issue is that I find a small amount of powder that end up all around the base and even within the shell plate and grooves all around. I'm able to accumulate enough to actually pick it up again and throw it back in the feeder. Just wondering if this is normal behavior.

TIA.

Check that the extractor wire - the wire that pushes your finished round off the shell plate, is smooth and not bent or kinked or scratched. Make sure you're using the correct pins to hold the rounds in place as well. And make sure there are no burrs on the shell plate.

I get a bit of powder around the shell plate area all the time, usually when i get shells stuck on the flare die at the powder station. Next time I'm going to try lubing the insides of the cases, just a touch, to see if that'll help with this. I don't get lots and lots of extra powder around here but I do get some.

I reload .40 S&W on my SDB but I have to retool to load some 9mm in the near future. I'll keep an eye open for problems similar to yours.

Check that your shellplate is tight. Mine will loosen up sometimes and a lot of little screw ups happen.

I agree this can cause problems. As far as the powder goes...there is a plastic bushing that slides in the bottom of the powder measure. Make sure it is there. It can fall out when you are changing your setup.
If that doesn't work call Dillon and they will know right away.:d

WHAT? you mean non-Lee equipment has issues too. Who da thunk it.
Yeah, it happens - except that after his problem is gone, it won't be an issue again and he won't start looking to buy a Lee.:d

If the press is not rigidly affixed to the bench or it is not in a Strongmount, it can jump enough as it cycles to shake a little powder loose.
Dilllon's number is 1-800-223-4570

also if you get going too fast it will have the powder jumping out all the time, slow it down a little
