issues with grizzly mag feed need some advice

So out at the range a few weeks ago, figgered this was an issue with crappy ammo.
So a bunch of us head out yesterday, with the mag feed grizzly and 10 mags, some cheap crappytire winchester as well as some S&B low recoil and winchester ranger slugs and 00buck.
The issue we had was that the bolt would not lock in to the chamber face everytime, so the trigger would not lot go and fire.
we have this issue about 20 out of 30 times.
we head into the club house strip and clean the gun go back out and try a bunch of different ammo.
Same issue.
So what the deal? i have built up and sold about 20 of these grizzly shotguns and not had any issues other then having to ajust the mags.
who else has had this issue? Its it fixable or will i be shipping it back to canada ammo.

X2, also check out my thread I had the same problem, I think I was the first to post about it after trying my grizz the same day as getting it. Woot for night shooting in the country!

The trigger is not functional until the slide is locked. (obviously so you dont have an explosion)
The slide lock seems to have some issues sliding into place when the magazines are inside the gun.
The tolerance seems pretty tight, so if they were at all bent when being assembled or not bent 100% properly from the factory you may notice issues.

Liquid, maybe edit your thread so people are not thinking the lever is a decocker. Clarity is key when trouble shooting.


Badboy, im curious what adjustments you were making on the mags? Just bending the lips slightly?

It was more about extra metal on the lips and alittle bending. The problem I'm having don't happen everytime but ill look at it

Ahh ok, did it allow feeding of 3" shells? If so, reliable feeding?

Keep in mind the factory magazine is not as wide as the aftermarket mag's, I did not have the problem with the factory mags just the wider aftermarket ones.

Start with the slide closed, then put an aftermarket mag in, then open the slide, then close the slide (push down the follower from inside to close while empty).
Now try moving the slide lock lever back and forth, you will probably feel some resistance/friction.
The lever has to be all the way forward/locked in order for the trigger to function.
If the lever is rubbing between the magazine and receiver the spring will not have enough force to move the lever into the locked position.



When I say aftermarket mag im talking about the extra mags that CanAm sells for the grizzly's, you can notice that the single factory mag is slightly different.
The factory has a different length internal spring, and is not as wide.
 
lol i know a guy that had the same issues, he believe its an issue with the lips on the magazine, i think it may be poor design- im gonna wait till this is solved before i go to get one ;)

It seems that Canam has basically no say on the design/how they are made, so i doubt these little problems will go away anytime soon.
The grizzly's just need some love :cheers:

Also forces ya to learn the gun inside and out.
 
For me the reciever channel for the action lock machining was very rough with a burr down the long axis of the channel. It would hold the action lock in the upright position intermitanly disabling the trigger.

Polished it up with dremal and emory cloth, and now no issues.

this is a very easy fix the bolt lug is not locking up when the action is closed and not allowing it to fire,the problem is caused by the tube ,the one that would hold the ammo if it was not a mag fed remove the barrel and slightly bend that tube upwards until the thing will fire/its a poor design how they attatched this tube to the receiver with pins i took mine out welded in the holes and silver soldered the tube back in it removes the slack in the tube,when this tube is down to far it causes the barrel to pull down with it not allowing the bolt to lock up prpperly and it wont fire,if you cant fix it let me know iam down your way once in a while and would be more than happy to come fix it up for you
