Picked up a lightly used M305 off the EE a couple months back and finally got it to the range today. Worked fine for the first 5 rounds (factory 5 round short mag).

Next string was with a 5-20 round mag from Tenda. After the second shot the trigger group fell out. I reassembled and started again. Same happened after 2 rounds. This happened one more time and on my last attempt it came apart after one shot.

Has anyone else seen this occur? Any known causes? I just realized the aftermarket mag may be the issue, I didn't think of trying the short mag again but will next range trip.

Does the trigger guard "snap" closed when you close the trigger guard back up?
Mine takes quite a bit of a push and "snaps" in place, and it wont come open unless I use a Allen key/small bar inserted into the rear hole and pry the guard down,
Just a thought, maybe that tab that secures the guard to the group is bent out?

Well, it seems the trigger guard isn't engaging enough to prevent this. The recoil pops it open unless i leave my middle finger under the guard. Looks like I have some finagling to do with the tab...

that trigger guard is supposed to snap hard into place, with a good whack of the hand and hard to open, especially without a tool. You shouldn't be able to just pull it open without any effort

something is up

Do a tactical jungle repair ( black electric tape ) will get her done !
Some thing isn't setting /alining right for sure remove action from stock and see how the trigger fits to it then do the same to the stock . Look closely something must be out of wack . Battle rifles arn`t made to just fall apart grunt proof !

Try tapping the trigger guard into place with a rubber hammer , ensure that it passes the trigger test afterwards to ensure the bolt isn't following the op rod forward when released (slam fire) . To do the trigger test after assembly.
1. #### the action and test the safety is working.
2. Fire the action and keeping the trigger to the rear #### the action again a few times to ensure the bolt isn't going forward .
3. With the action still cocked release the trigger and you should hear a click.
4. Fire the action and repeat a few times to ensure it is working correctly.

If the action wont go into the stock and latch into place a small bit of material may need to be removed from under the trigger pads to get it to lock into place .The trigger test is very important and the rifle MUST pass this test.

The little tit on the end of the trigger guard is supposed to snap into the groove at the back of the trigger plate. It should be an audible "click" as it snaps over. Is it snapping into place, or is the tit sitting up against the trigger plate without going into lockup?
