Issues with short barrels?

Hey All, tried a couple of searches but didn't find anything so...........

Question is; are the shorter AR barrels (7", 10'' and even 14") problematic in function, accuracy or other issues? I know that accuracy at longer distances with shorter barrels will be an issue but what can one expect from each length? And finally, which length did or would you chose of the three?

Properly set up and with good ammunition there should not be any problem with any barrel length, if there are problems it's something in the set up. I run a 10.5 - incidentally, don't use cheap ammo in shorties, they need full power military ball equivalent, MFS and some Win White box ammo is on the borderline from a power perspective.
 
What he said. I run 2 7.5 inchers, a 10.5" an 11.5" and a few more. They all run flawlessly and are much more accurate than you might think. I am talking 1 1/4" 100 yard 5 shot groups and under 6-8 inches at 300 with good shells. This with a zero magnification Eotech. Have fun!
