Issues with Wolf?

Oh dear. Over a month ago I corresponded with Wolf Bullets (Kingston) and ordered 1k of 9mm 125 gr. cast lead bullets for reloading. At first Wolf wasn't too interested, saying that the shipping rates had gone up markedly. I did some research with Canada Post and found that shipping was $20 or less. So I made the order.

Having heard nothing for a while, nor seen a shipment, I sent Wolf a note. He replied the order was "done and gone". More weeks pass. It's the holidays, so I'm patient. I then ask Wolf for a tracking number, date of dispatch, whatever. He says he'll find the paperwork. Days later I ask again and say that I may have to stop payment on my credit card if I don't receive the bullets. Wolf is evidently insulted by this, says he hasn't charged my card (a month after shipping?) and not to contact him again. If the bullets show up by some kind of magic, I can keep them for free.

My (last ever?) email to Wolf said that I will be sending him payment in full by cheque should the bullets arrive.

While I don't think for a minute that I've been ripped off, I do wonder if my order was ever processed, given the lack of information provided about shipping dates, no credit card charge, etc. I'm feeling mixed emotions at this point.

Just venting, I guess. Don't know whether to feel annoyed or guilty somehow.

Just from reading your anecdotal feedback about what happened, I think you should give serious consideration to the probability that the order was never made, nor shipped in the first place .... ;)

Since you're not really out any money, perhaps you should simply move on and find another source.....

Just my two cents .... :)

Badger

Isnt there a distributor for Frontier in Alberta somwhere? It'd be cheaper shipping....

I made an order with Wolf Bullets a year ago......my card was never charged and I never received the product either....I buy from Higginsons now.

try Canadian BDX.

I haven't heard back from Wolf either. Despite the emails and telephone call. = (a) he is extremely busy, (b) my order inquiry for 5000-6000 rds of reloaded ammunition is not important. It only takes a second to reply; " I have received your inquiry, and will get back to you with a price", or "let me check on that, I will get back to you".

If you are reading this Mr Hoffman, please take it as advice, or as a "heads -up". I heard some good things about your ammo as of late, but not so good about communication.

there are two or three people making bullets in BC. i will see if i can get a list but it might be easier to just go to one of the guns shows.

BDX has both cat bullets and 40 cal excel bullets and will be bring in his own plated bullets the end of Janaury. as well i know both Phoenix and Wild West carrry excel bullets.

What a relief. A quick email to Andrew Higginson, a speedy, helpful reply, very reasonable shipping quote and the order will be on the way :)

Indeed. I've ordered from there before and Lois is very friendly, gets your bullets in the post ASAP. The only downside with the Barn is that they don't give you a price break between ordering 500 and 1000 bullets. As for shipping, it's interesting to note that it's only $2.13 more expensive to ship an 18 lb. package of lead from Higginson's in Ontario than it is from the Barn in BC. And of course you're not paying PST from Ontario, so you're ahead in the end.

I've always had great service from Wolf...in fact he often goes out of his way to meet up with me either at an IPSC match or for a beer...

Remember that we all ramp down for a few weeks during the holidays...

Just my experience...your milage may vary

...and yes...Andrew from Higginson is very good to deal with as well
