It’s a SEAL situation

.223 all the way... and the Winchester White box ammo is common, cheap, accurate, and perfect for head shooting seals... hubby will be happy.

Stainless savage axis. Ok got it thank you !

You may be able to find a higher quality rifle on the used market... do you have access to the EE? keep an eye out for a week before you jump on the new Axis... I assume that you want it for Feb.14th? Either way, considering the conditions, a stainless/synthetic rifle is a good way to go.

Watch out for the big white furry things.

I do have access, yes. I think I’m going to wait til Easter or April birthday. Make sure I get the right one over rushing.

Oh I haven’t been on here in forever. Feels good to be back!

Quick question. Here’s the scenario .....
Hubby is signed up to do the seal hunting course he needs to legally hunt seal. I know what’s coming.... then we need a seal rifle. So instead of waiting for that, I’m going to go and buy him one ahead of time. This way I get the brownie points AND can find a budgetier (word?) friendly purchase. It’s almost Valentines too so perfect timing.

Would you go .223 or 22-250?

Or same difference in the end ?

There's a separate course to hunt seals? Why? They don't seem particularly hard to hunt and I know they are not endangered or in short supply.

This is brilliant info! Thank you. He will be with his cousin, who is a very experienced hunter just not with seals. Otherwise, they won’t be worrying about people around close by. New adventure for the both of them. Another mention of .222. Maybe I should shop locally for that ammo before I rule it out. Thanks so much!
I'd say he has the perfect partner.. congrats
